IT Student’s dream comes true after Mseal seal top flight football

After years of trial and failures ,lady luck has finally landed at Murang'a Seal full back Gideon Were door steps with the defender forming part of the squad that earned the St. Sebastian Park club Promotion to FKF Premier League for the first time in history.

Were, who started his career as a forward ,was integral part of then KRA sponsored Isabania FC that gained promotion to the second tier in 2017 from FKF nationwide division one though the stay at the border club couldn’t last longer as the team dissolved indefinitely.

A move to then National Super League side FC Talanta was on the horizon ,a move that gave the lanky defender a second chance in his career earning promotion with the Ken Kenyatta coached side though was later released denying him a dream move to the top flight .

A short stint at Mwatate United show coach Vincent Nyaberi snap him at Murang’a Seal and after missing promotion narrowly in the FKF caretaker and transition committee run league ,Were and the seals have successfully made it to the coveted first tier ,a feeling he terms indescribable.

” Can’t even describe how I’m feeling, after along struggle trying to make it to the top ,I’m excited to play in the Premier League,” said Gideon.

The defender was an integral core in Murang’a Seal defense taking to the field 30 times ,missing two match days , and registering 17 clean sheets to his name , further scoring once and creating six goals .

The Information and Technology graduate targets a top five finish with Mseal as he believes top flight football will open more avenues for him and the team to further advance their careers .

” Top flight football comes with a lot of advantages for players and teams , we are going to push further in the league and get a top five finish ,which we know is achievable . “
