Sportpesa Premier League: Tusker Leopards to avenge first leg defeat

Tusker FC got a win they badly needed with a 2-0 win over AFC Leopards to keep alive their hopes of finishing among the top four.

South Sudanese import – David Majak, showed why he deserves respect in the pitch when he netted the match opener and his sixth goal since he joined the Brewers this season.

But while Ingwe were trying to mount a comeback, Bonface Muchiri added the second goal before the breather  for a healthy 2-0 lead .

Following the win, the bottlers moved one place and into sixth on the standings with 53 points, three adrift of fourth-placed Sony Sugar.

Leopards, who recently trounced Mt Kenya 2-0, suffered 13th loss of the season that leaves them in ninthh place with 42 points.

Six matches were played on Sunday to conclude round 33 of pay that kicked off on Saturday with three matches.

Elsewhere, Zoo FC escaped relegation following their 3-2 win over 10-man Kakamega Homeboyz.

Bandari are assured of finishing as the second best team in the 2018-19 KPL season after settling for a barren draw with visiting Sofapaka at Mbaraki Sports club.

Kariobangi Sharks put up a gallant show to demolish relegation-bound Mt Kenya 3-0, while Vihiga United could be facing relegation after losing at home 2-1 to visiting Western Stima at Bukhungu Stadium.
