The 60 players Man United have been ‘linked’ with this summer

Man United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have not yet dipped their toes in the transfer market but the rumour mill has reached overdrive.

The modern world of football is quite different to how it was 20 years ago. It’s not outlandish to suggest that fans can get more excited about transfers than goals these days.

Social media is king, transfer rumours drive the agenda, especially when the season is finished.

Manchester United , more than most clubs this summer, are in need of transfers and many fans will pick up on the faintest rumour to give false hope over a long off-season.

And with United being United, they tend to be linked with dozens of players in various news reports.

Here are the 60 players who have been touted for a transfer to Old Trafford in at least one news article since the window opened on 17 May:

Kalidou Koulibaly — Napoli centre-back, a prime target

Jadon Sancho — United would like the Dortmund winger, but a deal looks improbable

Declan Rice — An attractive proposition for United in midfield

Nicolas Pepe — Prolific Lille winger

Daniel James — United have agreed terms with the Swansea winger and look set to sign him

Bruno Fernandes — Playmaker at Sporting who’s scored plenty in the past season

Joao Felix — Benfica wonderkid also linked with Man City

 Ruben Dias — Centre-back, another highly-rated Benfica youngster

Aaron Wan-Bissaka — A top target to fill right-back berth, but Palace value the 21-year-old highly

Thomas Meunier — PSG right-back, a possible alternative to Wan-Bissaka

Kieran Trippier — Napoli appear favourites to land the Spurs and England man

Harry Maguire — United linked again after failing last summer

Paulo Dybala — Juventus reportedly willing to sell talented Argentinian

Matthijs De Ligt — The centre-back all United fans would love to sign
