Homa Bay widows gain financial independence through empowerment Initiative

The Widows Empowerment Program has been at the forefront of championing self-reliance among widows, particularly in Homa Bay, where many women face economic hardships after losing their spouses. In a significant step towards economic independence and community resilience, the  Widows Empowerment Program convened with the Ruga Widows in Arujo Ward, Homa Bay Town Constituency, reaffirming its commitment to uplifting vulnerable women.

The initiative, backed by Principal Secretary Dr. Raymond Omollo and led by Ayugi Victor, is making a profound impact by equipping widows with essential skills, financial opportunities, and the support needed to secure a stable future for their families.

Speaking during the meeting, the program’s leadership emphasized the need for sustainable empowerment, ensuring that widows are not only supported in the short term but also given the tools to thrive independently.

“This initiative is transforming lives by equipping widows with essential skills, financial opportunities, and the support needed to achieve economic independence and secure a better future for their families,” the organizers stated.
