Amonde, Khayange to lead rugby veterans in fixture against Uganda

This weekend will see former Kenya rugby players clash with neighbours Uganda Rugby veterans in a highly anticipated fixture at the Kyadondo Stadium in Uganda.

With the stage set for the veterans to showcase their class the occasion will bring together a collection of legendary rugby players who have since retired.

The match pitting Kenya’s Nondies Legends and Uganda Vets is also expected to revive the glory days of some of the greatest legends in the history of Kenya Rugby.

Former Shujaa speedster Oscar Osir will be at the helm as the head coach with a number of renowned figures in the line-up for the Kenya rugby squad.

They include former Kenya 7s captains Andrew Amonde and Humphrey Kayange. Former director of rugby at Mwamba Tito Aduk and former Mwamba Rugby Chairman George Mbaye.

Current director of Kenya Simbas Moses Mukabane and Victor Sudi will also be representing Kenya with KCB duo of George Asin and Oliver Mang’eni included in the traveling squad.

The squad will be captained by former Kenya Rugby Union Secretary Eddie Omondi.

This will be the first meeting between the two veteran sides.

Nondies Legends have been participating in the Dubai 10s for quite a long time, and this time they switched gears to the 15s version of the game to challenge their East African rivals.
