Passengers stranded, operations halted at JKIA as workers begin strike

Thousands of passengers were stranded at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport after aviation workers downed their tools in protest over the proposed takeover of operations at the JKIA.

Flights had delays in landing and taking off, arriving passengers unable to get their luggage after their delayed disembarking from aircrafts.

Kenya Airways has advised passengers who were scheduled to travel from 11.00am not to go to the airport until they receive further communication. This is after operations were completely halted by the workers shortly before 9.00am.
