One killed, cops injured in Turkana after assailants attack police vehicle

A teacher has been killed and two police officers injured when unknown assailants attacked a police vehicle in Kaleso area of Turkana East. Oscar Olekete Keya, 35, was shot at the back during the incident and was confirmed dead on arrival at Lokori AIC dispensary. The injured are two administration police officers, stationed at Napeitom AP camp and were headed to Lokori market “for shopping” when they were attacked at Kaleso area. A occurence book report at Lokori police station says the assailants are “believed to be Pokot” and no arrest has been made following the incident.
“APC Joseph Ndirangu aged 30 years was shot (the) lower left leg at the ankle… APC Julius Medira… Was shot twice, ” sated the report seen by Kurunzi. “The two were given medical treatment at Lokori AIC dispensary… But arrangements are being made to transfer them to Moi teaching and referral hospital in Eldoret.” The slain teacher’s body has been taken to Lodwar referral hospital mortuary.
