Muranga man rewarded for building road for village mates

It is said that good deeds never go unrewarded. And this is the case of one – Nicholas Muchami from Kiharu, Muranga County.

Muchami single-handedly built a one-kilometer road using his farm tools connecting locals to Kaganda shopping centre.

He took up the initiative after a neighbour blocked the road they were using citing trespass on his farm.

The 45-year old man was given a heroic welcome at ABC Bank Westlands by the staff and management.

When asked to name a gift, Muchami said he wanted a hybrid cow.

“We as the bank will ensure he gets the cow of his choice as well as the right training to manage his dairy business,” said the bank’s General Manager Phillip Wambua.

“The bank will buy feeds for his cows for a period of 6 months and also enlist him to a good sacco that will help him manage his finances.”

He has also been rewarded with iron sheets for his cow shed by Rhino Mabati, as well as piped water as PS Joseph Irungu directed.

He will also be one of the beneficiaries of rural electrification programme as plans are underway to connect his house with electricity.
