Harambee Stars: Trio, including Miheso, Akumu, dropped from Egypt-bound squad

Portugal-based winger Clifton Miheso and Zambia’s Zesco United midfielder, Anthony Akumu, have been dropped by head coach – Sébastien Migné from the final 23-man Harambee Stars squad that will represent Kenya at the Egypt 2019 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

Other victims include injured duo defender Brian Mandela and young forward – Christopher Mbamba.

Also dropped is striker Masud Juma, whose form was wanting.

Combative midfield player, Akumu’s axing appears to have shocked many fans who believe his pivotal role for the Zambian club deserved a place in the team.

Kurunzi Sports has learnt that Mbamba picked up a knock on his ankle in training on Monday.

Defenders Musa Mohamed and Abud Omar, who picked up knocks in their 1-0 friendly win over Madagascar last week also made the team that will be captained by Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Victor Wanyama.

Stars will play the Democratic Republic of Congo on Saturday in Madrid, Spain before traveling to Cairo four days later for their first AFCON showing in 15 years.
