Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow in their attempt to land the services of highly-rated Borussia Dortmund star, Jadon Sancho.
Sancho is a top summer target for United, with previous reports in the UK contending the Premier League club were preparing a bid for the winger.
However, the Red Devils’ failure to seal a Champions League qualification place has dented their chances of landing the services of the Englishman, with the player also hinting at remaining at Dortmund.
Speaking after Dortmund confirmed their runners-up spot to Bayern Munich, he divulged winning the Bundesliga will be the club’s target next season.
“Next season our target is to win, not come second,” UK Metro quoted the 19-year-old.
“I’m really happy with how I played this season. I wasn’t playing that much at the start of the season but was in the team more often later on. It’s all about hard work,” he added.
On their part, United also appear to have given up on the chase for the England international, with reports claiming the Old Trafford dwellers are already closing in on a deal for Swansea winger, Daniel James.
