Leopards unbeaten run halted by Mathare, Bandari drop points after draw

Mathare United stretched their unbeaten streak to four matches after a comfortable 2-0 victory over AFC Leopards.

Cliff Nyakeya bagged his 11th goal of the season in the 28th minute to open the scoring before Klinsmann Omulunga doubled the advantage 10 minutes later.

The defeat was the first for Leopards in the last nine matches, leaving them 10th on the SportPesa Premier League standings with 34 points.

Francis Kimanzi’s Mathare are still fourth with six games left to play.

Bandari missed out on the chance to reduce the gap between and the top two after being held to a frustrating barren draw by Posta Rangers FC.

The third-place dockers dominated the encounter but could not find the back of the net, leaving them with 48 points, four less than Sofapaka FC in second.

For Posta, the point takes them to 25 points after 27 matches as they continue to battle toward regaining a spot in the top flight next season.
