Kiplangat stars as Murang’a Seal gain promotion advantage

Murang’a Seal’s quest for Premier League football gained further momentum on Wednesday when they held on to beat hosts Naivas FC 2-1 to move top of National Super League table.

Fabian Adikinyi and John Kiplagat scored a goal each to seal victory for the visitors ,who are on a run of 12 unbeaten games.

Fabian Adikinyi opened the scoring inside 16 minutes with a delightful dink over Naivas Custodian Gradus Ochieng before Kiplangat’s deflected effort middway through the first half sealed the points for Murang’a.

The hosts,through ex-Talanta Fc hitman Ken Mutembei’s beautiful header had earlier brought back Elvis Ayany’s charges level but a swift counterpress by the Seals was enough for them to suppress their opponents.

The win sees Murang’a Seal dislodge Shabana Fc from top position with 61 points ,one ahead of the glamour boys,who have two games in hand .

In another dramatic game,Mara Sugar ramped up intensity to heat league debutants Kajiado FC 4-0 at Awendo Green Stadium and move joint third with Migori Youth.

Goals from David Owino ,red hot Philemon Nyakwaka, Mohamed Baraza and Brian Ochieng were enough for the Sugar men to record their biggest victory in National Super League.

Elsewhere,at Ligi Ndogo Grounds, Kibera Black Stars ended their seven game winless streak with a 2-0 win over Gusii Fc to move two steps on NSL log .
