Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has denied claims of a rift in President William Ruto’s government.
The DP has instead asked Kenyans to rally behind the President in the New Year 2025 to push the country forward.
Speaking on Saturday during the wedding ceremony of Wildlife Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano’s son Peter and his bride Wambui, Kindiki said that he had been given some days off and was on holiday.
“I’m left with a few hours, my holiday is coming to an end and therefore I need to enjoy whatever is left. Ignore everything else completely. Just ignore everything else. Don’t fall into the trap of triviality and small issues. We have a business. The President allowed me a few days off,” Kindiki said.
“I feel so energized and I believe that this is the year that all of us will rally support the President and take Kenya to the next level.”
Kindiki said that the government will focus on five key areas in the implementation of the government’s bottom-up transformation agenda 2022-2027 as its priorities for 2025.
“The last weekend of the festive season offers the opportunity to get set for a critical year in the implementation of The Plan, 2022-2027,” Kindiki said in a statement on his X account.
The president’s principal assistant noted that as Kenyans conclude the long period of festivities and embark on nation-building, they should be informed of the government’s agenda for 2025.
The five areas that the government will focus on include sustaining the prevailing macroeconomic stability, and empowerment of citizens through the creation of jobs and income opportunities.
Speaking during the Saturday event, Kindiki further said that Kenya is a blessed country adding that citizens must aspire to build strong families in pursuit of both the hardware and the software that underpin strong societies.
He added that improvement of the economic infrastructure like roads, electricity and internet connectivity; bettering social amenities like schools and health facilities as well as the pursuit of better incomes form the hardware of nation-building.
“For our all-round prosperity, we require to supplement this crucial national hardware with the software of positive social values, love for one another and our country, stronger families and inter-generational solidarity,” he said.
