Head of digital communications at the Presidency, Dennis Itumbi, bail application hearing resumes Wednesday morning at the Milimani court.
He appeared in court in handcuffs holding the book WHEN BREATH BECOMES AIR.
Itumbi was arrested last week in connection to the assassination claims on the Deputy President, detectives claiming he was behind the ‘fake letter’ associated with the claims.
He was arraigned last Thursday but DCI requested for five days to conclude their investigations, the court directing that he be held at Muthaiga police station.
He sought the court’s permission to table, as evidence, a video tape of the alleged meeting at La Mada hotel in Nairobi where Mount Kenya cabinet secretaries and senior government officials discussed the plot to eliminate DP William Ruto.
Itumbi alleged the DCI were dismissive of his evidence because there was a scheme to cover up the meeting and wanted the video played in court.
His arrest has led to a dramatic turn of events, politicians allied to Ruto claiming this was part of a plan to intimidate them into silence. Reports suggest the OCS at Muthaiga station has been interrupted for allowing Itumbi photo sessions with friends and family, leading to his isolation.
Nobody has been allowed to see him since Saturday.
