FKFPL Wednesday fixtures: Ingwe aim for third as Homeboyz seek to continue unbeaten run

The 12-time champions will be seeking to overcome their opponent for the first time since the lockdown days. On top of a victory that could raise their hopes of fighting for the 2024/25 title as asserted by coach Fred Ambani, Ingwe will be aiming to maintain their momentum as they gear close to the long-awaited 'Mashemeji Derby' set for 2 March at Nyayo National Stadium.

AFC Leopards could leap to third place as FKF Premier League action takes center-stage on Wednesday afternoon. Ingwe, who last weekend made it five straight games without a loss following their 2-1 away victory over Mara Sugar, host Sofapaka at Dandora Stadium kick-off at 4pm EAT.

The 12-time champions will be seeking to overcome their opponent for the first time since the lockdown days. On top of a victory that could raise their hopes of fighting for the 2024/25 title as asserted by coach Fred Ambani, Ingwe will be aiming to maintain their momentum as they gear close to the long-awaited ‘Mashemeji Derby’ set for 2 March at Nyayo National Stadium.

Sofapaka ended their four-game winless run with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over KCB, one they engineered despite going a man down thus this match promises to be a high-octane one to keep an eye on for the local football fans.

Elsewhere at Mumias Sports Complex, Kakamega Homeboyz will have the opportunity to extend their impressive unbeaten run to 12 matches when they come up against Murang’a Seal. Homeboyz, while still in their early season slumber, managed to beat Seal 2-0 in the first leg and will be once again rubbing their hands as they come up against a team that hasn’t tasted victory this year. Seal’s last win was before Christmas, and they are on a three-match losing streak. Homeboyz, on the other hand, put five past City Stars. Yikes!

Rejuvenated Posta Rangers host Mara Sugar at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, with their unending quest of moving out of the red zone. Just two weeks ago, the Mailmen looked destined for the drop but have since picked up important points against Shabana and Kariobangi Sharks.

After the Posta vs Mara match, Ulinzi Stars will face Kariobangi Sharks at the same venue with kick-off at 4pm EAT.

In Murang’a, fifth-placed KCB hosts sixth-placed Bandari FC in what will be the match of the day as both sides seek to up pressure to the top four while raising their chances of just sneaking into the title race and maybe clinch it.
