American singer, Ciara, gets admission to Harvard University

The 33-year-old singer announced the exciting news on Monday, as she took to Instagram with a shot in which she was wearing a school sweater from the prestigious educational institution.

“I always dreamt of going to college, but by God’s grace, my music career took me on a path that I’m so thankful for,” the Oh singer wrote in an accompanying caption: “This week I got accepted into Harvard! Words cannot describe my excitement!”

The Austin, Texas-born beauty, who is married to NFL superstar Russell Wilson, thanked Professor Anita Elberse of the university for the ‘a once in in a lifetime opportunity’ to enroll into the university’s Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports program.

The Level Up artist, who released her latest album Beauty Marks earlier this month, was admitted under the program which the school says is a ‘selective process based on [one’s] professional achievement and organizational responsibilities.

Elberse wrote in the caption, ‘”What professor you know is fly like that?” Amen, @ciara. You are the queen of flyness, though.’

Other celebrities who have past attended Harvard include Conan O’Brien, Rashida Jones and Elizabeth Shue.

Ciara, who is mom to five-year-old son, Future Zahir (from her previous relationship with rapper Future) and two-year-old daughter Princess with the Seattle Seahawks quarterback, surprised kids at a Los Angeles elementary school with a special  appearance she posted on her social media Monday.
