Former Thika United forward, Moses Arita, is among 13 players released by Shabana FC in the mid-season transfer period.

Others, who have left the club include former Nzoia United midfielder Patrick Kwitonda, Ivorian Michael Ange and Dennis Monda.

Moses Otieno, David Simiyu, Calistous Machasio, Joash Ogega, Francis Oduor, Mohammed Dhulikfli and Kevin Momanyi have also left.

The club has acquired the services of former Gor Mahia, AFCLeopards and Kenyan international Yusuf Juma, who joins the Glamour Boys alongside rightback Rooney Onyango to bolster their defence as they continue their pursuit to be promoted to the SportPesa Premier League.

Shabana coach Gilbert Selebwa says Juma’s experience will come in handy as the National Super League enters the second round.

Kisii-based Shabana have also roped in Marion Kakai (Thika United), Anthony Baraza (Kibera Black Stars), Paul Odhiambo (Migori Youth), strikers John Musyoka from Mwatate FC and Bliss Kityo (Muhoroni Youth).

“We want two central defenders, one holding midfielder and a goalkeeper,” Selebwa told Kurunzi Sport.

The former AFC Leopards team manager said he was happy Bob Mugalia has agreed to remain with the club, come next season despite being pursued by Nairobi Stima.

Reports suggest the club might lose the services of skipper Wycliffe Nyangechi, who is rumoured to be heading to Posta Rangers.

The club are currently 10th on the log with 27 points and are on a five-match unbeaten run. Their next game is set for next Wednesday March 20th against Nairobi City Stars at Hope Center in Nairobi.
