Troubled AFC Leopards seek redemption away at Sony

AFC Leopards will need to dig deep on Saturday when they host visiting Sony Sugar in a Sportpesa sponsored Kenya Premier League match that is anticipated to be a mouth –watering tie.

Nevertheless, eight matches will be played as the SportPesa Premier League enters Round 16 this weekend. Only one match will be live on TV – Sofapaka versus KCB FC at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday
March 3.

Gor Mahia’s match against Ulinzi Stars that was initially scheduled for this weekend has been postponed as the defending league champions will be away in Algeria on Sunday for a CAF Confederations Cup fixture.

The highlight clash of the round though will be at the Mbaraki Sports Club where league leaders Bandari FC will play host to third on the log Mathare United.

Both teams are separated only by two points with Bandari on 31 points.

After leading the league for the first two months, Mathare were ousted by Bandari following a dip in form for the better part of February that saw Francis Kimanzi’s charges go on a five game winless run.

They snapped that woeful run last time out with a 2-0 win over bottom placed AFC Leopards and will go into the game fancying their chances against a Bandari side that possess one of the best forms with four
wins from their last five games.

Another game worth watching is the Kakamega clash pitting AFC Leopards
against Sony Sugar. Ingwe have decided to move the match from their traditional Machakos Stadium to Kakamega where they believe they have never been lucky.

The big cats will be targeting to break their six
game losing streak that has them bottom of the pile with 10 points.
