Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Aduda has insisted their seasoned and long serving Captain Haroun Shakava was still with the team despite perceived rumours he had parted with the club.
The club spokesman further disclosed they had completed the signing of defender Maurice Ojwang’ from Western Stima on a three-year deal.
Ojwang’, who captained Stima last season, has been on the club’ top targets since 2016 when Brazilian Jose “Ze Maria” Marcelo was in charge.
He said Ojwang’ is not a replacement for skipper Shakava who is rumoured to be on his way out.
“Yes,I can confirm to you we have signed Ojwang’. He is a young defender with a lot of promise. He has been called up to the national team before so there is no doubt about his quality. He is Gor Mahia material,” Aduda affirmed.
“I want to clear this unending rumours,Aduda added.Shakava is still a Gor Mahia player. We value his service and he has indicated he is not going anywhere at the moment . Ojwang’ is a player we have been following for a long time and we are happy we have finally signed him,” .
The former Western stima kingpin will re-united with his former teammates at Stima namely Geoffrey Ochieng’, Kenneth Muguna Bernard Ondiek and Joash Onyango respectively.
